Data Not Collected
The developer does not collect any data from this app. That is what the App Store privacy label says, and the rest of this page explains why it is true.
At a glance
- No account. You never sign up, log in, or give a name or email address to play.
- Your game stays on your device. Saves and settings live on your iPhone or iPad. I don’t run a server that receives them.
- No analytics. The app contains no third-party analytics or crash-reporting SDK.
- No ads, no tracking. No advertising SDK, nothing sent to an ad network, and no “Allow tracking?” prompt.
- Apple handles payments. Purchases go through the App Store. I never see your card or Apple ID details.
- A real person answers. Email rene.venturini@icloud.com with any question.
Who I am
Civic Mandate is made and published by Rene Venturini, an independent developer based in Estonia (“I”, “me”). I am responsible for the app and for this policy. The app’s bundle identifier is com.aurora.civicmandate.
What stays on your device
The game needs a few things to work. All of them are stored locally on your iPhone or iPad and are never sent to me:
Your campaign
Your country, budget, policies, laws, cabinet, parliament, election results, and the rest of your term, so you can pick up where you left off.
Your settings
Language, music and sound, haptics, appearance, tutorial progress, reminder choices, whether you have finished the free term, and when the rating prompt last appeared.
Your purchase status
Which packs your Apple ID owns, so the game knows what to unlock. Apple remains the source of truth.
Diagnostics
Short technical messages in Apple’s standard on-device system log, to help with debugging. The app does not upload them anywhere.
The privacy manifest shipped with the app declares no collected data and no tracking. It lists the one system feature the app uses to store settings (UserDefaults, for the app’s own functionality). The app contains no third-party SDK, so no other company’s privacy manifest is included.
What the app does not collect
- No name, email address, phone number, or account of any kind. No Game Center sign-in.
- No advertising, analytics, or crash-reporting SDK from another company.
- No App Tracking Transparency prompt, because the app does not track you. It does not read the advertising identifier.
- No access to your location, contacts, photos, camera, or microphone.
- No cloud sync of your saves in this version.
- No selling or renting of personal information, ever.
Advertising
Civic Mandate shows no ads. The app contains no advertising SDK, requests no ads, and sends nothing to Google or any other ad network. There is no ad consent form because there is nothing to consent to.
Purchases and the App Store
Optional one-time purchases (the Countries pack, the Advanced policies pack, and the Complete edition, which includes both) are sold by Apple through the App Store. Apple processes the payment and manages your Apple ID. I never receive your name, email address, or payment details.
To unlock what you bought, the app asks Apple, on your device, which of these products your Apple ID owns, including when you tap Restore purchases. Refunds are handled by Apple. Apple’s handling of the App Store and payments is covered by Apple’s privacy policy.
Notifications
If you allow notifications, the game can schedule at most one reminder a day, never between 22:00 and 08:00. These are local notifications, created and delivered on the device itself. There is no push server and no device token sent to me. Turn them off in Profile, or in iOS Settings → Civic Mandate → Notifications.
Sharing, links, and ratings
Sharing. Profile can create a plain-text run report, and the end-of-term screen can create a result card image. Both open the iOS share sheet. They leave your device only if you choose where to send them, and I don’t receive a copy.
Links. Each law in the game cites a public source, such as an official legal database. Tapping that source, or Support and Privacy in Profile, opens the page in Safari. Those websites have their own privacy policies.
Ratings. Occasionally the app may ask iOS to show Apple’s rating prompt. That prompt belongs to Apple, and the app never sees what you rate or write.
Children and age
Civic Mandate is a strategy game about politics and government. It has no chat, no user profiles, and no user-generated content, and it is not directed at children. It never asks for a date of birth or any contact details, so it does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children under 13 (or the equivalent age in your country). If you believe a child has emailed me personal information, write to me and I will delete it.
When you email me
If you write to me for support or feedback, I receive your email address, your message, and anything you choose to attach, such as screenshots. I use them only to reply to you and to improve the game, and I don’t add you to any mailing list. My mailbox is hosted by Apple iCloud, which stores and delivers the mail under Apple’s terms.
I keep a support conversation for as long as it’s useful to help you, and I delete it on request. For people in the European Economic Area and the UK, the legal bases are the request you make (GDPR Article 6(1)(b)) and my legitimate interest in answering support and improving the game (Article 6(1)(f)).
Deleting your data
- Reset your campaign: in Profile, under Danger zone, reset the save. Your settings, like language, are kept.
- Remove everything: delete the app. That removes the on-device save and settings. There is no copy on a server to delete.
- Emails: ask me and I’ll delete our conversation.
- Purchases: these stay with your Apple ID and can be restored later. Apple manages that record.
Your rights
Because the game keeps your data on your device, the only personal data I may hold is email you have sent me. Where EU or UK data-protection law applies, you can ask to access, correct, or delete it, to restrict or object to how I use it, or to receive a copy. Email me and I will answer within one month.
You can also lodge a complaint with a data-protection authority. In Estonia that is the Data Protection Inspectorate (Andmekaitse Inspektsioon), aki.ee, or you can contact the authority where you live.
Changes to this policy
If a future version of the app changes how information is handled (for example, adding cloud saves), I will update this page before that version ships and change the date at the top.
